week 1 and 2

February 25th, 2015
Hey Mom!!!
I am safe! The trip was great:) I am exhausted beyond the definition, but this place is amazing of course! I met three different people on the flights, two of which live in Houston in my mission, so I will try to find them again. I am pumped, once we got here we ate and now they are taking us to where we will stay. I swear- there is no where on earth I would rather be. The people who took us to the MTC only spoke spanish, so it was fun to use my Spanish. I´m doing pretty good at it. Tell all of the kids I say hi and I love them. And thanks again for waking up in the middle of the night to take me. I love you!!!:)
Your very happy and excited daughter,
Lindsey

Week 1
Hey everyone! I honestly can´t believe it has only been 6 days, I feel like I have lived so much life in this week it is insane!
This place is amazing. It is literally a spiritual place in the middle of Mexico city. Well I arrived here on Wednesday of last week.
The flight was cool, I was able to talk to the people I sat next to in both flights and get their addresses since they were all from Houston, Texas.
On the plane to Mexico I met two people who would eventually be in my district- Elder Phister and Hermana (sister) Tate. We rode in vans to the CCM
driven by these two men who were natives to Mexico city and only spoke Spanish. I am sooooo glad I studied spanish before I came here. Hermana Tate and I had
a good conversation with them!
We got there Wednesday night and went to a meeting where I found out that Hermana Tate was my companion. She is just Awesome!!! I love her so much.
She helps balance me. We both are pretty far ahead in the language so we try to speak Spanish where ever we go. During meals we sometimes sit with Latina sisters
who are only here for 2 weeks and have conversations with them as much as we can. I am happy to be here, but I won´t deny that it is hard. We have 16 hr days, most of which
consists of studying. On our second day here, we were already having lessons in Spanish! It was crazy, but we survived. Our district is made up of 4 sisters and 4 elders, all of whom
are really good people. At night, when we have language study we try to play games to learn the language and have so much fun. By the end of the day everything seems to
be funny since we are so tired from all the work. The next 6 weeks down to the second is planned out. It is hard, but so worth it. Hermana Tate and I were called to be Zone sister training leaders- basically we take care of about 12 sisters and oversee their needs- it feels like a lot of responsibility for only being here 3 days. I already feeling myself being stretched. It all
comes down to depending on the Lord. I know he lives. I am so grateful for this opportunity to serve a mission and I intend to make my family proud.
Love you all!

Week 2
March 10th 2015
Moooom!!!!HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!!I love and miss you SOOO much. It hasn´t been hard being away from home until P day because I just miss you so much. WOW= two weeks and I feel like the world has happened at home! How exciting that you were able to make so much money in that fundraiser, that is definitely a blessing! Tell Nathan, Allie, Dallin, and Dad to email me! The more emails I get the more happy I feel on P day. You can let grandma Bohn, grandma Christensen and other people closer to our family that I would love an email from them. It seems like emails from home mean everything to missionaries and I am discovering that to be the same for myself. Life here is amazing. I feel like time goes SUPER slow and super fast at the same time! I haven´t learned so much Spanish in my entire life! Golly, there is so much I can tell you! We are teaching two investigators (our teachers) and It is pretty hard to prepare lessons and try to speak Sopanish under pressure, but we are getting better and better at it. I LOVE LOVE LOVE my district so very much- I think God put us together. There is Elder Sheehy and Elder Stone- both of them keep us laughing and positive. Elder Watts and elder Phister are great. Elder Phister is a really kind person and Elder Watts is the leader of the group. Hermana Rice and Hermana Clark are great. We laugh and talk a lot. Hermana Clark is actually from Menifee and attended the Murrietta Singles Ward! My companion, Hermana Tate, is wonderful. She is from Los Angeles and was attending UCLA before she came here. I told you that she reminds me exactly of Morgan, my cousin. We talk in Spanish constantly and eat at least one meal a day with the Latina Sisters who are just so sweet and humble. Hermana Tate and I are pretty far along in the language. Hermana Rice took 4 yrs of French before coming out here and the others are working on the Spanish. On Sunday everyone had to prepare a 5 min talk in Spanish, so my companion and I had fun trying to help everyone:) I am definetly not fluent yet, but I can not express my appreciation  that I studied Spanish in the time before I came out here. All of the scriptures they are having us memorize, I already have. I am becoming more and more grateful for the 10 months before the Mission.
So far the best part of my experience here has been the district devotionals with no teacher, lead by our district leader. The Spirit is so strong in the room and I have never made such close friends before. It is bound to happen since we are together 16 hours a day every day. I just love everyone of them. Sometimes I find myself sharing very personal things that I haven´t shared with anyone. We are so close as a district that during our´éxcersize time we always play ping pong and fooseball together. The spirit here is amazing. Devotionals are all so powerful and they show some MTC talks to us that I don´t think anyone has ever seen, only missionaries.Sunday nights we watch movies like The Testament and How rare a possession. This time here I have grown a greater appreciation for my Savior. I have started reading Jesus The Christ and it is just helping me feel the Spirit. The food here isn´t that amazing. It simply just doesn´t agree with my stomach. I currently am sick with a slight fever and chills- at least it is p day right? Hermana Tate did our laundry today and has been just wonderful.
Last week Hermano Carranza (all the teachers are young Returned missionaries from Mexico city, but Hermano Carranza rides a Bus two hours each way to teach us!!!) asked me to help with a lesson on Saturday. I wasn´t quite sure what he was asking me to do, but I found out that I was acting like an investigator and two teachers were acting like Misssionaries in my home. For an hour (in front of two districts) the teachers showed the districts how they should practice giving the first discussion. It was pretty nerve wracking since the lesson was completely in Spanish, but some others said I did a good job. On Sunday I played violin in Sacrament meeting- a beautiful song named ´My Shepard will supply my need´. I dont know why I get so nervous to play sometimes, but I did okay. The President of the MTC gave a wonderful talk during our little sacrament meeting. Golly there is so much I could tell you and such little time. OH! and we aren´t supposed to play music in our rooms. Weird rule, but I am working on being very obedient. Life is good. I am doing better and better every day.
I love you all so much!!!
Your happy and hardworking daughter,
Lindsey!!!
